Acceptable Use Policy

A. Introduction

In order to provide a professional service, we have set up some guidelines for users of our services.
Some of these guidelines may seem strict, but they ensure a safe, functional and reliable environment for all our customers to publish their information on the web.

Many of our competitors do not require their customers to follow these guidelines. If any of our potential customers are unwilling or unable to follow these guidelines, we respectfully invite them to visit one of our competitors.

B. Web and FTP content on your server.

We do not allow any of the following content to be posted on any of our web servers:

1. Content of a pornographic, sexually explicit or adult nature.
2. Illegal material (including copyrighted material).
3. Pirated software sites, hate sites or content that could reasonably be considered offensive.
   SweHosting's representatives will decide on content that is questionable regarding any of the above criteria.

Users who publish any of the above content on their websites may have their web pages and/or incoming anonymous FTP services temporarily suspended.
They will then be contacted by SweHosting and given the opportunity to remove the content in question before their services are restored.
A repeated breach may result in cancellation of the service without any refund of fees.

C. Use of e-mail

Personal information submitted to us via our website will be used for the purposes set out in this policy or on the relevant pages of the website. We may use your personal information for the following purposes:

SweHosting does not support unsolicited email messages sent by users of our system (also known as spam).

Users who send unsolicited email messages from our system will have all their services temporarily suspended.

They will then be contacted by SweHosting and informed of the suspension before their services are restored.

A repeated breach may result in cancellation of the service without any refund of fees.

D. Illegal activities

Customers caught using our system for illegal activities, including but not limited to remote system break-ins, debit or credit card fraud, theft, vandalism, threats or violence, will have their accounts immediately terminated without refund of any fees.

E. Right to refuse sale

SweHosting reserves the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason. We enforce this policy to ensure a professional environment for users of our system.
This includes all applications, such as CGI applications that use excessive amounts of system resources.
Excessive amounts are defined as any amount that results in significant degradation of server performance.
SweHosting is the sole determinant of what constitutes degraded server performance. On some occasions we allow high usage depending on the situation. However, additional charges may apply.

F. Virtual Private Servers

1. Virtual Private Servers have fully dedicated resources in terms of RAM, disk space and bandwidth. However, CPU core usage, I/O usage, and network speed usage are not tightly constrained and therefore follow a fair share policy.
   We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate any server found to be abusing any of these resources.
   We will typically hand out multiple warnings before taking action - but platform performance and stability are considered the highest priority.


2. All Virtual Private Servers have port 25 blocked by default to prevent spam. If you want port 25 to be opened, please contact our support.
   Please note that we do not in any way guarantee access to this or any other port, and the decision on whether to open it will be made solely by SweHosting.
   Should a Virtual Private Server fall victim to a Denial of Service/Distributed Denial of Service attack, SweHosting reserves the right to shut down the Virtual Private Server, as well as blackhole/zero the IP address. This is done to protect the integrity of the shared platform.
   Please note that although SweHosting offers basic protection against DDoS & DoS attacks, repeated, prolonged or heavy attacks will result in the above measures being taken.


3. Virtual Private Servers can also include Core Management. SweHosting is in this case responsible for the initial setup, as well as ensuring the stability of the physical node. In our Core Management, reactive support is also provided on an OS/system configuration level.
   Although we (unlike many) do not set a hard limit on how many hours of support any one client can use - Core Management, as with all other aspects, is covered by the Acceptable Use Policy and must not be abused.
